Dr. Carla (as she is called by her patients) loves orthodontics because of the positive difference it makes in her patients’ lives. They are extremely well informed and eager to understand how braces will work for them. Dr. Carla is proud of the quality of care she offers. It took her a lot of hard work and commitment to become an orthodontist, and she is proud to be in a profession that helps improve people’s smiles, confidence, and oral health.
She attended SUNY Stonybrook, where she majored in psychology. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. Later, she completed the general practice residency program at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. In 2006, Dr. Carla moved to Washington, DC, and completed her postgraduate orthodontic training at the Children’s National Medical Center, where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Carla frequently attends continuing education courses and study club meetings with fellow orthodontists on the latest advances in orthodontics and surgical procedures. She also gives continuing education courses to general dentists and hygienists so they are informed as to what orthodontics can provide for their patients.
Dr. Carla is originally from Forest Hills, NY. She currently resides in NJ with her husband Brian and two daughters. They enjoy the NJ shore, hiking, going to the theatre, and cooking.
