MEET DR. CARLA
Dr. Carla Banduci was born and raised in Forest Hills, New York. Her academic journey began at the State University of Stonybrook where she majored in Psychology. She went on to receive her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. After obtaining her dental degree, Dr. Banduci completed a General Practice Residency program at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
In 2006, she moved to Washington, D.C. where and completed her postgraduate orthodontic training at Children's National Medical Center where she served as chief resident. In her free time, Dr. Banduci enjoys traveling to upstate New York, where she spent her summers as a child with her twin sister. She enjoys fishing, hiking, theatre, reading and cooking. Dr. Banduci makes it a priority to frequently attend continuing education courses in order to stay on top of the latest and greatest the orthodontic profession has to offer. Dr. Carla, as she is known to her patients, offers the highest quality of orthodontic care, while customizing each treatment to the individual needs of her patient. As is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Banduci likes to see children by age 7. At this time she can address a child's oral habits and potential dental trauma and begin to monitor the eruption of adult teeth and general oral health. Ideally, Dr. Carla performs treatment at age 12 or 13 when all adult teeth have erupted in an effort to minimize a patient's time in braces and the cost to the parents.
